Can Internal Rotation of the Rotator Cuff Increase Pitcher Recovery? – Try This Stretch Today

Hey guys,

Today’s post is short but sweet.

Do You Have Shoulder Pain?

Baseball pitcher’s get should pain. It happens.

But why? There is a lot of reasons. A common and important reason is the external movement of throwing.

Here is what I mean…

As you develop your arm (like throwing since you are 5 years old), you become advanced at the backward cocking position.

Just like Chapman here.

This looks painful, but we know it doesn’t hurt a pitcher. Not when you are loose and well prepared.

This movement overtime, can cause an imbalance in your shoulder. And if you are not careful, you will experience soreness, pain and problems.

You Can Stop Shoulder Pain

You can stop shoulder pain if you are consistent with your arm care. Here is one way you keep your arm strong and loose. Its called the Sleeper Stretch. This stretch helps maintain that internal range of motion and mobility for your shoulder.

Make sure you listen to your body and do not push this too hard. I personally only did this stretch when I had shoulder soreness. Use this stretch as a test. If you are super tight internally, you may run into problems soon. So try and lightly add this to your routine.

You do not need touch the ground with this. Just keep this stretch in your routine when you are tight and feel pain.
